From the vast savannahs of Kenya and Tanzania to the mountain forests of Uganda and the tranquil hills of Rwanda, Ziwani Trails creates thoughtfully designed journeys that reveal the richness and diversity of East Africa. Inspired by the great lakes that unite the region, we believe travel should flow naturally across borders, cultures and landscapes.
The name Ziwani is derived from the Swahili word meaning "place of water" or "by the water." Across East Africa, water has always connected people, wildlife and landscapes — from Lake Victoria and Lake Tanganyika to Lake Kivu, Lake Naivasha and Lake Turkana.
Rather than focusing on a single destination, we specialise in creating seamless journeys across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda, allowing travellers to experience the remarkable contrasts that define the region. Our approach is personal, flexible and detail-oriented, ensuring each journey reflects the interests, pace and expectations of every traveller.
Our Story
Inspired by the lakes that unite East Africa
We believe meaningful travel is about more than visiting extraordinary places. It is about understanding landscapes shaped over millions of years, meeting communities whose traditions remain deeply rooted, and supporting responsible tourism — leaving with experiences that continue to inspire long after returning home.
Planning a journey across multiple East African countries requires local knowledge, trusted partnerships and careful coordination — we handle every detail.
We know the quieter camps, the scenic routes and the hidden viewpoints — the experiences that transform a holiday into a lifelong memory.
From the first conversation through to your return home, every detail is handled with professionalism and personal care.
Our regional knowledge allows us to combine comfort, authenticity and flexibility across borders, cultures and landscapes.
